The Constitution divides the responsibilities and powers of the government into 3 separate branches of government, legislative, executive, and judicial, in order to prevent any one person or group from getting too much power. The following diagram illustrates these divisions. To learn more about each branch, click on one of the images in the diagram to be directed to a site about that topic.
Your mission is to visit all of the sites and gather information on the duties and history of each branch of government. After gathering the information from the sites you must write a 1 page paper for each branch for a total of 3 pages explaining (1) what each branch of government does and (2) using an example from the sites that shows how that branch of government has carried out its responsibilities. These papers should have our standard format: Times New Roman 12 font, double spaced, 1 inch margins with no extra spaces between pargraphs. Each of these 1 page papers is worth 20 points for a total of 60 points for the mission.
