This curriculum web is designed for high school seniors who are taking American Government. The site considers the Founding Fathers’ genius in:
- Setting up a skeleton framework for the government while leaving room for adaptations over time to flesh out the specifics,
- Dividing the responsibilities and powers of the government into 3 separate branches of government, legislative, executive, and judicial, in order to prevent any one person or group from getting too much power,
- Dividing the responsibilities and powers of the government into 2 separate levels, national and state, that govern the same territory,
- Guaranteeing that the government would not abuse the rights of citizens by establishing the Bill of Rights and the other amendments to the Constitution.
