Emergency Information:
Given the lost educational opportunities and disruption of family schedules caused by school cancellation, every effort will be made to maintain the normal school schedule.
The decision to cancel school due to hazardous weather or emergencies is made by the Superintendent of Schools and is based on information gathered from various agencies and personnel. The foremost factor in the decision to cancel school is student safety. If buses can transport students safely, school will be in session. Information regarding school closures will be disseminated through local media (radio and television) and the school district website (www.homedaleschools.org).
The cancellation announcement will generally be made by 6:00 AM of the day of closure. Notice of cancellation will be posted on the district website and also sent to these media outlets for announcement:
